Temporary traffic controls
Temporary traffic control signals remain in place on the link road. We expect these controls to remain in place for at least a further month. The delays have been caused as a result of slow progress made by Clancy Docwra the utilities contractor.
Road connection to Wawne Road
The new road that will connect from the roundabout (Kesteven Way) to Wawne Road is due to be connected in the next few weeks. However this will not be open as a direct link through for the public just yet. The houses that are occupied will have access from either Wawne Road or Kesteven only (depending on what side they reside) until such time as the central avenue homes are complete when the road will then fully open. The developers will still require used of the middle section of the road to serve their site compounds and construct houses along the central avenue. It would not be practical to have the road open in full until the development is further progressed.
Pedestrian Access along the link road
The developers are aware of the recent access issues and we have asked them to look at forming more robust diversions including signage to enable safe passage for people. The company responsible for this are again Clancy Docwra who are installing the mains utility services in the highway along the link road.
